Why drum MIDI played by a real drummer?
MIDI is the performance, not the sound: which drum is hit, when, and how hard. Load it into your drum VST and the plugin plays it with its own kit, so the grooves sound like your production.
Every groove in these packs was played by a drummer on an e-kit, so the timing and dynamics of a real performance come with it.
- Stop programming drumsWhy spend hours building grooves when you can import one and start writing.
- Played by a real drummerNo robotic drums: every groove keeps the timing and feel of a live performance.
- A pack for each styleEvery style of metal has its own way of playing, and each pack is made for one.
- Your sound, any drum VSTSuperior Drummer, EZdrummer, Steven Slate Drums, GetGood Drums or any other drum VST.
- Easy to auditionReference audio comes with the packs: listen, pick what you like, drop the MIDI into your DAW.
- Change anythingEdit a groove in your DAW's MIDI editor until it fits your riff.
What musicians say
★★★★★ 4.9 from 197 reviews across the store
Worked perfectly with a few nü metal type songs and integrated seamlessly with Logic Pro/EzMix
I feel like I’m playing with somebody in the room. This is a great pack and an absolute steal! I initially got the free pack, and watched the videos and was sold. It’s got tons and tons of great content and more! Buy it!!
Really good. The midis go in order of verse, pre chorus, chorus, second option chorus, bridge and bridge second option with rolls. There a several per folder for bpm. Outstanding work.
These drums are amazing. Some really unique and realistic drum beats. Tons of rolls and fills. Even segregated breakdown midi. Metalcore collection is my favorite so far. Definitely made with a metal musician in mind. 🤘🏻
Dope pack. Helps a lot to save on some grooves and patterns I just wouldn't get on my own. Will get more MIDI packs down the line.
Just downloaded and used it. It’s very easy to use and the description is on point. Great product and I absolutely be buying again from this company.
Frequently asked questions
How do I download and install the packs?
After you buy, the download links are in your order email. Unzip the file and drag the MIDI files into your DAW from wherever you saved them. There is nothing to install.
Do you include audio with the MIDI packs?
Yes, reference drum audio, so you can listen through the grooves quickly without setting up your drum VST. It is there for reference only.
Which drum VST can I use them with?
Any drum VST: Superior Drummer, EZdrummer, Steven Slate Drums, any GetGood Drums library and more.
What drum mapping do the packs use?
The common General MIDI (GM) drum map. Each pack also has a text file listing the note for every drum, so you can set up your VST's mapping in minutes. The drum map page has every note.
Can I use the MIDI in commercial releases?
Yes. You can use the grooves in songs you license, sell and distribute. The MIDI packs themselves cannot be shared or resold.

Who made these
Hi, I'm Naman
I have been playing rock and metal drums for more than 15 years. There were not many good metal MIDI packs out there, and most were programmed by guitarists rather than played by a drummer. So I started making my own.
I hope these packs help you write more metal, even a little. If you have a question, mail me at naman@whackstudio.com.
